Speak Up is a brand new project aiming to break the stigma surrounding mental health and stress within secondary schools. We provide free support to students aged 13-18 (GCSE onwards) in various forms. The first is a website which offers advice, links to professional help, anonymous chat lines, motivation and revision hints and tips. The second is a care package, or ‘bundle of joy’ which will be available for purchase from our website, and will contain motivational and stress relieving items of different themes. Finally, we will offer workshops in secondary schools teaching students about coping strategies and helping them come to terms with their mental health and stress issues, encouraging them to seek help and break the stigma around mental health. There will also be drop-in sessions organised within the schools where students will be able to seek advice from us confidentially and privately.
The project is a not-for-profit organisation and any money made from the care packages will be reinvested into the project to improve the support available.
